Why should I rent instead of purchasing?
It is extremely important that young students use instruments that are the right size and well maintained. There are certain standards for quality and functionality that need to be fulfilled in order to avoid the many issues that come up with inferior quality instruments. We are not responsible for damage or breakage while trying to tune instruments which do not meet specifications. Based on our experience, we recommend renting rather than buying at this stage. Most instruments purchased by parents trying to get a “good deal” on the internet, in chain stores, or overseas, are of inferior quality to the instruments available for rental through reputable dealers. Unfortunately these instruments are often sized incorrectly, are difficult to tune, break down, have poor sound quality, and have little or no resale value. Another advantage of renting from a reputable dealer is that you can exchange the instrument for no extra fee for the next size any time your child has a growth spurt. Additionally, many dealers have programs in which money you have paid for instrument rental can later be applied towards the purchase of a full size instrument. |
